| History: | The Colossus may have come to Playcenter by way of Interama Park in Buenos Aires Argentina. An Intamin reference list has an entry for a "Double Looping Roller Coaster" going to "Interama SA" in 1979. Interama Park had a very troubled past and whether or not the Colossus was ever erected or even existed at the park remains a mystery. One theory suggest the ride was never intended to go to Interama Park, but went to Argentina as a trick to circumvent the high taxes involved with importing an amusement ride from Europe to Brazil. These taxes did not exist when importing from Europe to Argentina or from Argentina to Brazil. |
