1887:Alexander G. Kent built a 75-room hotel on Geauga Lake called the "Kent House."
1889: A steam-powered carousel opens and becomes Geauga Lake's first amusement ride.
1969:Funtime, Inc. purchases the park.
1995:Premier Parks, Inc., purchases the park.
1998:Premier Parks, Inc., purchases the Six Flags corporation.
12/8/1999:With Premier Parks, Inc. owning the Six Flags brand, the park is renamed to "Six Flags Ohio".
1/2001:Six Flags purchases SeaWorld Cleveland for $110 million and the park becomes Six Flags Worlds of Adventure a marine life, thrill and water park.
3/10/2004:Cedar Fair purchases the park from Six Flags for $145 million. The animal park, formerly Seaworld, is closed for the season and the animals are relocated to other Six Flags properties.
2005:Wildwater Kingdom, a 20-acre waterpark opens on the 56 acres formerly occupied by Sea World.
9/21/2007:The park announces that starting with the 2008 season the park will become exclusively a water park.
